Glenn Albrecht, AIA, LEED AP
Senior Project Architect

It was very important to our client that the stained glass windows in their new home be of the same quality and craftsmanship as the four century old examples that they fell in love with in Great Britain. Once we visited Leo's studio and saw the cathedral stained glass that he was restoring, we knew we had found the right craftsman for the task at hand. There are no shortcuts or modern methods that could accurately reproduce the stained glass of the medieval and Tudor periods. Leo has kept alive the traditional European methods of stained glass making and his pieces are as timeless, beautiful, and inspirational as those found in Speyer or Lviv.

Stained Glass Restoration
We are blessed to have God's glorious light shine through our stained glass windows during worship each Sunday. They were created in 1916 by Kansas City Art Glass Company, and as we have found during research, they are very rare. The trustees, after much research finally found a company that had the capability to recreate the windows. Willett-Hauser of Minneapolis is doing the work. It has involved many months of work. The broken panes were removed and sent to the artist that will do the work. The artist who did the actual work was Leo Milkhiker of Leo Art Stained Glass Studio in Clark, New jersey. He is a native of Ukraine, and had his degree in fine arts from the National Art Institute in Moscow. He was the subcontractor from The Willett- Hauser company, a renowned art glass creator and restorer having done thousands of installations including the National Cathedral in Washington, DC.
